The market
What Found weight loss actually costs
The headline numbers are real. They are also annual prepayments billed thirteen times a year, which is not the same as a monthly price.
What is advertised
Cash plans from $169/mo, insurance plans from $99/mo, billed per 28-day cycle.
And in the footnote beneath it:
Pricing based on 12-month plans paid up-front. Monthly plans start at $199/mo for insurance and $289/mo for cash-pay.
So there are four prices, not two:
| Paid up front, 12 months | Month to month | |
|---|---|---|
| Cash | $169 | $289 |
| With insurance | $99 | $199 |
The advertised figure is the one that requires a year's commitment, paid at the start. The number someone can actually try for a month is $289 cash — 71% higher.
The 28-day cycle
"Billed per 28-day cycle" is the detail that changes the arithmetic. A year holds 13 cycles of 28 days, not 12.
| × 12 | × 13, the real year | |
|---|---|---|
| $169 | $2,028 | $2,197 |
| $289 | $3,468 | $3,757 |
| $99 | $1,188 | $1,287 |
It adds roughly a month's payment a year. It is disclosed, it is on the page, and almost nobody multiplies it out.
Compounded, alongside branded
Found's medication list includes compounded semaglutide and compounded tirzepatide next to Wegovy, Zepbound, Ozempic, Mounjaro and Saxenda.
Compounded versions are made to order by a pharmacy. They are not FDA-approved products, and the approved labelling does not cover them — including the dose schedule, because the concentration can differ. If you are comparing programs on price, this is the variable doing most of the work.
The before-and-afters
Found's pricing page carries member photos with weight-loss figures. Their own small print reads: "Real member(s), paid for appearance."
That is disclosed properly, which is more than many do. It is also why we do not run them: a paid photograph is an advertisement, and next to a medicine with a boxed warning it does a job that numbers should be doing.
Insurance is the real lever
Found accepts insurance in a list of states, which most cash-pay telehealth companies do not. If your plan covers weight medicines, that will beat any cash price on this page or ours — check that first, before comparing programs at all.
How to compare any program
- Is the advertised price a prepayment? Ask what a single month costs.
- How many billing cycles in a year? 28-day cycles mean 13.
- Branded or compounded?
- Who answers in week five?
