What Hims weight loss actually costs

Two numbers, not one. Every price Hims advertises is medication only, and a membership you cannot opt out of sits on top of it.

The two numbers

Every price on the Hims weight-loss page is medication only. The membership is separate, required, and renews.

An active Hims Weight Loss Membership is required ($39 for the first month, auto-renews at $149/month thereafter). Membership is billed separately and does not include or guarantee a prescription. Medication is not available without a membership.

That last sentence is the one to read twice. You pay the membership to be reviewed. Whether a prescription follows is a clinician's decision, and the fee is not contingent on it.

The medication prices

From their own page, on 23 September 2026:

Per month
Wegovy Pillfrom $149
Wegovy Pill, microdosing planfrom $149
Wegovy Penfrom $199
Ozempic Pillfrom $149
Ozempicfrom $199
Zepbound Vialfrom $299
Zepbound KwikPenfrom $299
Foundayo Pillfrom $149
Zepbound$1,899
Mounjaro$1,899

What it comes to

Medication plus the required membership: the first month, then every month after.
Month 1Month 2 onward
Wegovy Pill$188$298
Wegovy Pen$238$348
Zepbound Vial$338$448

Worth putting beside it: on the same day, Novo Nordisk's own pharmacy sold the Wegovy pen at $349 a month with no membership at all, and the pill from $149. On the pill, Hims is $149 plus $149; NovoCare is $149.

That is not a scandal — a membership buys clinician access, messaging and follow-up, which direct-from-manufacturer does not. But it should be a choice made with both numbers visible, and one of them is in a footnote.

What changed in 2026

Hims settled with Novo Nordisk in March 2026 and stopped selling compounded semaglutide. Everything on the platform now is brand-name. That is a meaningful improvement on the previous arrangement, and it is also why the prices above are what they are: the compounded era was cheap because it was not the approved product.

The $1,899 lines for Zepbound and Mounjaro are the same medicines outside a manufacturer savings route. They are a useful reminder of what these drugs cost when nothing is subsidising them.

Other things to know

  • No insurance. Hims weight loss is cash-pay only.
  • A microdosing plan exists for the Wegovy pill. Microdosing is not an FDA-approved dosing strategy; it is a prescriber's choice.
  • Ozempic and Mounjaro are diabetes products. Prescribed for weight, that is off-label use, and their own page says eligibility is a clinician's determination.

How to compare any program

Three questions, and they work on us too:

  1. What is the membership, separately from the medicine?
  2. Is it the branded product or a compounded version?
  3. What happens in week five when the nausea starts — who answers?
